THE BAD: I have been dealing with this for 6 years. It became inflamed at least once every 2 months. For the most part I dealt with it by myself. I would take hot baths and use hot compresses until it finally burst. I can’t tell you how many events I missed because of this, including my sons elementary school graduation.
THE GOOD: I finally got tired of dealing with it and got the courage to get surgery. I learned of Dr. Carey Brown Shady Grove Hospital Rockville, MD from this website. I had my surgery today. To be honest I was scared to death. Well I have to tell you don’t be scared and get it done. Dr. Brown said he made two small incisions one that he said was open and one that he said was closed. I haven’t seen it yet because I have to keep it bandaged for 24 hours. I was released from the hospital 10 hours ago and have felt no pain at all. I have taken no pain medication at all. I plan to rest again tomorrow and return to work the next day. The doctor was very honest that the surgery is not 100% but if it comes back I would get this surgery done again without the blink of an eye.
